Dotty For You birthday card

I whipped up this birthday card today using the Dotty For You constant campaign paper pack! That striped paper is my favorite in the pack--it looks beachy to me. I used a sweet leaf base, lagoon card stock, the reverse of the chevron paper (to use the grey polka dots), the striped paper, then grey wool card stock and more sweet leaf. I used the Party Pennant stamp set because all of my other Happy Birthday sentiments are sort of fancy--and I wanted this card to be low key and masculine. Oh and I added a couple wraps of lagoon baker's twine around the sentiment piece to soften it just a little bit. Inside I stamped Make A Wish from the same stamp set. What do you think?

CTMH Convention 2011 Highlights

Streamlined Scrappin' Club for May: STELLA!

May 11th at 7 pm we are working with the above Stella kit! We're not using that stamp set though--I thought it was a little hard to use in more than just one layout, so instead we're using this one:

And we'll also use another stamp set to add more faux stitching to the layouts:

DID YOU KNOW that if you come to club each month, in a year you'd have 36 layouts completed and awaiting your photos??? Each month we complete THREE 2-page layouts! I try to make each one different enough from one another that you can use them separately, or you can use them as a larger group to document an event.

The Basic kit is $20, and the Workshop on the Go kit is $35. You can purchase your kit by using the links on the side of this blog, or go to and join the Club Gathering at the bottom.  If you can't make it on the actual Club date, you can always order a kit and I will cut your pieces for you.

Colors for Stella are:  Cocoa, Olive, Lagoon, Sunset, Colonial White, and Tulip.  A great way to build your inks is to purchase your favorite colors that go with each month's layout--for Stella I would recommend purchasing Cocoa, Lagoon, and Sunset.

Other products that coordinate with Stella are:  Stella Complements Canvas Shapes, Bohemian Assortment, Wooden Badge Buttons, Designer Cocoa Collection Ribbon, Fashionista stamp set, Dimensional Hearts, and so many more!!

More Studio J layouts

These four Studio J layouts feature photos from my trip to Pensacola Florida last April. I created them in Studio J pretty much when I got home from the trip, but just never bought them. Because the event was nicknamed "Flip Flop University" I made sure that each page had a pair of flip flops on it!!

Studio J layouts

Florentine Kit

Superhero Kit

Cruisin' Kit

Stella Kit

Pemberley Kit
This coming Saturday I will be traveling to East Brunswick NJ for a Close to My Heart corporate event. It's called Leadershare and top leaders in the company (consultants) pair up with corporate Vice Presidents to offer business training and creative fun for the whole day! I am going up with two of my amazing team members, Carol and Betty, and we can't wait to hear all the hints of upcoming product reveals and complete some fantastic artwork too.

Part of our registration included FIVE FREE STUDIO J layouts! Corporate sent us step by step instructions to complete these 5 layouts, each one featured a different technique. Being the last minute procrastinator that I am, as these needed to be submitted by April 18th....I started  them on April 17th! I spent a day just focusing on these layouts--and generally Studio J layouts do NOT take me that long to do. But as I was following instructions and trying new techniques, it did take me a little longer.

I'm going to go through each layout to tell you what the techniques were:
1-Florentine Kit:  using text boxes to add card stock, using a single photo in multiple photo wells, layering My Stickease to form a single image, and using multiple text boxes to mix fonts

2-Superhero Kit: creating your own argyle B&T paper (I skipped this in the interests of time), customizing kit by adding different colors (also skipped since I didn't do the argyle), and rotating a page.

3-Cruisin' Kit: using quick-title tool to create a border, clustering My Stickease behind page elements, adding photo mats

4-Stella Kit: frame photo with stitching, cluster embellishments and My Stickease

5-Pemberley Kit: distressing photos with text boxes ( I skipped this), splitting My Stickease across both pages, using an embellishment to create a border.

May Streamlined Scrappin' Club: STELLA!!!

Isn't this cute? The paper is really awesome in person--I wasn't a fan of it until I got my pack. The pattern I love the most isn't featured in this layout here, but it looks like fabric patterns and Ijust think it's so adorable!

I have actually misplaced my Stella club layouts that I have already I've been wandering around yelling STELLA!!! (I had to mention it, sorry!) Seriously, I did misplace them and really hope I find them soon. I know I completed the featured layout (above) and then I also did the second one...and can't find them anywhere. Perplexing....UPDATED:  I found them! All of a sudden it occurred to me that I had worked on those layouts at the Scrappers' Anonymous Getaway in January--so I found the stack of layouts from that crop and presto! There they were! So tomorrow I will take photos of the layouts that we'll be making and post them. I should also be able to create the third layout tonight.

Club will take place on May 11th--this is one week EARLIER than usual. This is because I am jetting off to Florida the following week to attend the Scrapbook Expo. My dear friend Penny invited me to come down and so I am going--so excited! Of course I will be working at the Somerset Scrapbook Expo in June but I guess I can't get enough of Expo this year. Pricing is still the same: Basic Kit is $20...the Workshop on the Go kit is $35.  Don't forget that you can add on the Dotty For You paper pack for $5 if you add onto your club order and get it up to $35.

Dotty For You Begins TODAY!

Starting TODAY April 17th and continuing through May 31st, order $35 and add this great paper pack for just $5. EVERY $35 gets you a pack, so if you order $70, you can add two packs to your order.

This special pack is ALL card stock weight patterned paper, so if you want to add some coordinating card stock, colors are creme brulee, sunset, smoothie, lagoon, sweet leaf, and grey wool. I also put it with desert sand and LOVED the result! Buttercup yellow would look great too

Three Dotty For You Layouts

This one is my favorite! I used grey wool, lagoon, smoothie, and white daisy. This is so NOT my usual color combination, but I love it! I used the Art Philosophy cartridge to cut out the heart accents, and on the two larger hearts I drew in stitching with a white gel pen. On the smaller hearts I just drew a line around the inside of the heart. I also used the white gel pen to draw stitching around the large grey wool die cut (behind the clouds). This layout is for a special night I have coming up this week. ;)

On this layout I used desert sand as my base pages, and the reverse side of two of the Dotty For You B&T sheets, which are all polka dotted. This one is sunset dots, and then I used the chevron multi-colored B&T and more desert sand. The flower/button accent on the left page is lagoon.
This layout is actually NOT a CTMH design, can you believe I went out of my box?? One of my dear friends gave me a Club Scrap Design Deck and this is from that deck. I wanted to try something different this time. Colors here are mostly smoothie, colonial white, and lagoon. The other non-CTMH thing is the letters SMILE--those are sparkly Thickers.

You'll be able to order your own Dotty For You paper pack beginning April 17th, just $5 with a $35 purchase! You will LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

Dotty for You paper pack!

All patterned paper!  No card stock in this pack, it's just all delicious B&T! My favorite is the tag sheet--the second one from the top in the right column. It is adorable! The chevrons are also really trendy right now, and the butterflies make me smile!

You can begin purchasing this paper pack for $5 on April 17th with a $35 order from the current Idea Book, and it will be available until May 31st. ALL new consultants signing up with the company between April 1 and May 31 will also receive this for free in their kits.

April Stamp of the Month: You Are...

I love this set! For some reason that crosshatch stamp is my favorite. I see it being used a lot in many different ways--to give texture to Art Philosophy shapes, add depth to journaling blocks, and so much more!

I haven't had a chance to make artwork with this stamp set yet, but there is a CTMH blog hop that happens on the first of every month. If you'd like to check it out, start with one of the most talented artists in CTMH, Annette Green.
